Well, we set a land speed record over the Fourth of July. I'll take some time an post a gallery of moon shots from Bonneville soon. Autodesk has a little gallery here and Russ has a bit more info posted at his website. Feels good to be part of a successful effort and it was fantastic to see Russ so happy.

I've been away from the website for a while. Liga and I moved in to our new place downtown, retuned from our Utah dirtbiking vacation and have been on the run (tapering to a jog) since.

Keep your eye out for www.ImageKind.com's launch in July.

Friday the 30th, Tim Lord is closing out his wildly popular Tramp art Boxes show in Spokane and we're headed to the party.

Going to Bonneville over the fourth of July to watch a certain friend's latest top secret world Speed record attempt. More to report on our return.

My friend Lawrence just sent me a little article — Jack LaLanne is 91 this year.

For those of you who don't know Jack, he is a treasure. with A relentless zeal for fitness (still to this day) he pioneered health clubs, juicing and health food stores. Jack opened his first health club in 1936. He holds the Guinness Book Record as the host of the longest running show on TV — 34 years. Jack still works out two hours a day, travels and speaks on behalf of childrens' fitness.

I thought I'd pull out my photos of Jack from an evening at Durkee's in the fall of 1998. We cooked dinner for Jack and his wife (of more than 50 years) Elaine. Jack regaled us in song, story and health tips all evening. One of my heros, who that evening gave me the one of the complements of my life by slapping me in the gut (repeatedly) and excaliming, "Man, if everyone were like you, I'd be out of business."

I did my best to impress him with some fingertip pull-ups on the doorframe, to which he responded, "did I ever tell you about the time I did three thousand pull-ups and ten thousand sit-ups?"

Ok, sold some stuff last weekend and having another sale this coming Sunday. We've already been getting calls and people have been placing dibs on the big stuff. Excellent. I'm encouraging all to shop and fill their homes with cool stuff so we can empty ours. Shackin' up will require new furnishings.

Well, it's official I am moving from the historic, well worn and beloved Marlborough House. I've been here around twelve years. In a few weeks, Liga the kids and I will be moving into our new condo at the the Cristalla. Meanwhile, we're selling a bunch mostly new furniture with which Liga recently furnished her new, now sold, house. C'mon down and shop this next Saturday (1 APR). We'll be hosting a sale from 8 am until noon at 2348 N58th ST (Greenlake/Latona neighborhood). Or, call Liga at (206) 522-8443 to get your dibs on the nice stuff.

Started working this week with Kelly Smith and the team at Curious Office, where we have quite a few things underway most of which I cant discuss unless I'm willing to be locked in the softly lit, padded room. I will tell you that it's pretty cool and it will delight a whole world of 2D artists and Photographers. Stay tuned to ImageKind for details.

My friend Cary Moon at the People's Waterfront Coalition (PWC) has for a long time been doing some great work in the interest of revitalizing our aging viaduct-blighted waterfront. There are two key, very expensive, propositions before the City Council which will likely end up on our ballots. if more citizens don't get involved, what will be missing is a radically less expensive alternative plan for replacing the viaduct – similar to the plan which resulted in San Francisco tearing down their elevated Embarcadero freeway and revitalizing their waterfront district. San Francisco did it all with surface streets and better traffic planning. Why cant we?

Consider getting involved. Here is some current media to get you up to speed:

Given the crumbling support for the tunnel option, Weekday on KUOW invited PWC to present the PWC’s No-Highway Vision.

Danny Westneat at The Times suggests it’s time to consider PWC's plan.

A group of UW professors urge leaders to act now on their responsibility to close the viaduct as a separate decision from settling on a permanent solution.

The Stranger reported how the so-called “tunnel” option will be much worse for Pike Place Market and Pioneer Square.

An urban planner from Boston cautions Seattle not to repeat the Big Dig.

Finished Brackenwood Capital Management's site this past week. Mark is doing some very unique and successful things. First, he's using the best mathematics (rocket science really) available today for analysis. This means 30 thousand up to 1 million computer simulations are performed monthly on each portfolio. Second, informed by the data from this advanced risk-return analysis, he rebalances the portfolios. This process happens on the same day every month, regardless of market conditions – it's vigilant, active and scientific – takes much of the voodoo out of the investing process. Third, his solutions all contain Rydex Mutual Funds which provide a broad exposure to many markets and because they are managed, generally less volatile than individual securities.

The future of modern investing – good science. Check it out and give Mark a ring.

For those of you wondering "who in the world is Bill Cody and what's he been up to?", ask no more. Bill returned from Iraq in October and is now home in LA editing his film Thank You for My Eyes. Traveling to foreign lands and making films takes some resource and in the case of traveling through Iraq - some balls. Helping out in the balls department may be beyond the means of most, but if helping out in the finance department isn't, contact Bill. He is looking forward to your investment and or help to help complete and distribute the film.
